Below you will find a breakdown of all the options you can find in our Android app. For more information on initial setup of the app, please see Installing Freedom on your Android device.

Today Tab

The Today tab contains information about your active, scheduled, and recent sessions. It also displays any Important Actions you need to take to ensure your blocks are working properly.

Sessions Tab

On the Sessions tab, you can start and schedule your block sessions. For more information, see Android blocklist and session setup.

Blocklists Tab

On the Blocklists tab, you’ll see a list of all your blocklists. You can tap on any blocklists you already created to edit, duplicate, or delete them. You can also tap Create a Blocklist to create a new blocklist. For more information, see Android blocklist and session setup.

Sounds Tab

The Sounds tab contains a list of Focus Sounds you can play during your sessions divided into different categories. (Coffee Shops, Offices, etc.) These ambient sounds can help you focus and feel ensconced in your work.

Settings Tab

The Settings tab includes all of the settings options available within the Android app:

Account & Preferences

Email: The email address for your account
Account Type: (Premium or Trial)
Device Name: The name of the device
Log Out: Allows you to log out of the app (Note: you won't be able to log out if you have Locked Mode enabled and are in an active block session).
Color Theme: Choose Day, Night, or correspond to System Theme
Time Zone: Allows you to manage the current Time Zone on your Freedom account. This is the time zone that your blocks will run in.
24-hour Clock: Toggle on to switch from 12-hour to 24-hour clock

Blocking Settings

Enable Locked Mode: Locked Mode makes it impossible to log out of the app during an active session. Learn more here: Locked Mode

Advanced

Do Not Disturb: This option automatically turns on your device's DND mode during sessions. Freedom will prompt you to enable your device's Do Not Disturb permissions when this is toggled on.
DnD Mode: This option lets you choose the DnD mode that gets turns on if you enable that permission. You can choose from Priority only, Alarms only, or Total silence.
Disable notifications: This option hide notifications from apps blocked by Freedom during your sessions.

Needed Permissions

Block Apps & Websites: This permission gives Freedom accessibility permissions to block apps and websites during your sessions.
Device Admin: This option allows Freedom to run properly in the background. It also prevents the user from uninstalling Freedom via the home screen.
Do Not Disturb Mode: This permission is needed if you want Freedom to activate your device's DND Mode during sessions. You will also need to activate 'Do Not Disturb' in the previous section.
Block notifications: This permission is needed if you want Freedom to block notifications during sessions. You will also need to activate 'Disable Notifications' in the previous section.

Notifications

Here you can adjust Freedom notification settings.

Session Start/Session End: Freedom will notify you when your sessions start/end.
App or website blocked: Freedom will notify you when an app or website is blocked.
Product Updates: Product updates from the Freedom team
Success & Motivation: Motivational messages
Special Offers: Promotions and discounts
Account: Notifications related to account settings/management

Tip: To stop seeing session time notifications, you can turn off the “Session status” notification category in your device’s notification settings (if available). On some devices, you may need to disable all Freedom notifications instead.
