Getting Started
To install Freedom on your Windows computer, download our Freedom installer from our Freedom downloads page, or you can use this direct link to the installer.
Installing Freedom
After you've downloaded the Freedom installer, double-click the installer to get it started. After that, you'll just need to follow the installer prompts to complete the installation.
Starting Freedom
After the installation is complete, Freedom will launch and you will be prompted to log into your Freedom account.
After that, you're all set! You can now start your first Freedom session from https://freedom.to or from the butterfly outline icon in your taskbar by clicking on Start a Session. If you ever find the Freedom app isn't launched in your taskbar, you can relaunch it from the Start menu.
Note: to access your Freedom dashboard, you will still have to navigate to freedom.to/dashboard in your browser. The dashboard won't open up within the Freedom desktop app. You can also click Launch Dashboard in the Freedom desktop app menu.
Running Freedom
Note that Freedom runs from the notification area on the task bar. The taskbar is on bottom of your screen - look at the bottom right of your screen and click on the arrow pointing up and you should see Freedom's butterfly icon. Click on this butterfly icon to bring up the desktop app menu and manage Freedom.
Note: if you don't see the butterfly icon in your taskbar, you may need to enable visibility of Freedom icon. To do this, right-click on your taskbar (the bar at the bottom), and select Taskbar settings -> Taskbar corner overflow -> toggle Freedom ON.
