Important update: Freedom now supports website exceptions on our Windows clients.
If you are hoping to whitelist specific sites on Windows, please see Windows website exceptions. The information below should only be used if you need to make a special exception to the proxy, such as allowing an app that does not allow a proxy bypass.
Block all websites, but allow email, Spotify, Pandora, Dropbox, etc.
On Freedom, you'll run a "Block All Websites" session, and make sure that any services you want to use are set to NOT use the system proxy. This will allow the apps to bypass the Freedom block.
Specific Client Instructions:
Spotify - Preferences → Advanced Settings → Proxy → No Proxy
Dropbox - Configure Dropbox Proxy
Google Drive - Should work natively
Pandora One - Should work natively
Other apps - ensure they are not using the system proxy, and they should be able to connect.
Setting up proxy bypass
On your Windows computer, open up Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy
Add the URLs used by the apps you want to access to the field "Use the proxy server except for addresses that start with the following entries." Use semicolons to separate entries:
