How to create a Freedom account

It's easy!

Creating a Freedom account is easy!  First,  go to the Freedom home page. 

To create an account with Freedom click on the big green button. This will open the screen below.

Type in your name, email to use for your account, and password. Please note your password must be at least 6 characters long. Now click 'sign up'. 

First step - select a few blocks

To start out select a couple of sites you would like to try blocking or choose 'Block Everything' to block the entire internet. You can select sites by clicking on the '+' button beside them or deselect by clicking on the check mark. Once you have selected the sites you want blocked, click 'next'.

Second step - install the Freedom app on your computer, tablet, or phone

You will now be prompted to download and install the Freedom client onto your device. This page will automatically begin a download of the installer, depending on your browser it will show up at the bottom of your screen or in your 'Downloads' folder. Double click on the installer (FreedomSetup.exe if on Windows, FreedomSetup.dmg if on Mac) to begin and follow the instructions to install the Freedom client. You will need to log in to the Freedom client with your account.

Once you have done that return to your browser and click 'next'.

Last step - start a short block and experience Freedom

Finally to see Freedom's functionality you will be able to start a quick session with the sites you selected to be blocked. Select the amount of time for the session and click 'start'. This will begin blocking the sites you had selected on the previous page.
