Keeping the Freedom App Open on iOS

Never quit Freedom iOS!

For Freedom to work correctly, it must always be on in the background.

It's possible to "force quit" an app on iOS. There is the misconception that quitting apps will result in improved battery life or improved use of CPU. This is not true! Here's an article which explains the situation: https://daringfireball.net/2017/07/you_should_not_force_quit_apps

This is why we encourage you to never quit Freedom. For Freedom to work correctly, it must always be on in the background.

Sometimes Freedom can't update in the background and must be manually opened

Because of limitations imposed on all apps by Apple, the Freedom iOS app is sometimes not able to synchronize with the server when it's in the background. This happens after going long periods without opening the app (a day or more), or sometimes shorter periods (a few hours) if many other apps have been opened in the meantime.
The solution is to simply open the Freedom app now and again and let it sync.
We know this isn't ideal, but because of Apple's limitations there isn't a way that we can work around this.
